Daughter, Sister, Mother

As you break out of the pavement,
I am breaking out of this chamber.

The smoke rises,
day in and day out...
Suffocating both of us in our repression.

Your sky is paling,
My blue, fading,
Until we can breathe freely again.

As your oven heats up,
Mine trembles in fear.

The streets pave the way of the wind,
Masking the true beauty we both possess.

Your trees are dying,
Mine, groping,
We seek pure soil for nourishment.

As you play with the tides,
I roll in and out.

The creatures fade into the night,
Leaving us longing for some connection.

Your soul is fighting,
My eyes, weeping.

Will we live again?
