Mistery

I sit,
waiting for these metal vessels to take me to another land.
A land in which another life was lived,
where sorrows shaped a soul.

The chill that courses through this body freezes more than just my limbs,
for my heart remembers, while longing to forget.
Yet, I know it is all part of the lesson.

Pranayama guides me through,
meditation masks the material.
There I am left with a truth.

So, I travel back East,
with my mind in the West.
Are there islands waiting for me there?

A Chill

This thumb on your lip,
to remember for eternity...
I remember and try to forget.
Why can't I be free to love you?

The forest in your eyes,
like magnets to mine of sea...
In those split seconds and minutes,
everything is bliss.

RIP John Lennon

31 years ago, one of the most articulate and truthful poets of the 20th Century left his body, some say, too soon.  John's soul chose to leave at that time for a reason...there are bigger plans than what we see in our physical body.  While I wish he were still here to love and create with us, his words and message live on in all of us.

Here are some of my favorite quotes of his:

"Because my role in society, or any artists's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel.  Not to tell people how to feel.  Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.  And it's like that's the job of the artist in society. Artists must reflect what we all are. That's what it's about, art, or poets, or whatever you want to call it, and that's what I'm trying to express."

"A dream you dream alone is only a dream.  A dream you dream together is reality."

"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem.  Love and peace are eternal."

and of course...Imagine...

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try
No hell below us, above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
and no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
 I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger a brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Peace and love friends!

Circling The Center

There's a saddness in my soul,
The labyrinth of life led me to the core.

A well full of karma collected over lifetimes.

Circling the center, I go for a swim.
Water rises as tears fall.

Another inch closer to not drowning.

Grown Up

The bigs kids,
We thought them older and wiser,
Like they knew something we didn't...

And now I feel the same way,
Wondering what sage advice the years will bring me...

A shrug reminds me that 'now' is all I really have,
And tomorrow is just another canvas.

The Dark Matter

incarnated for a higher purpose.

slowly moving there.

cyclical days and nights.

weeks and weekends.

where is the light?

guide me with your staff.

your loyal lion.

play your sitar.

upon the mountain i breathe deeply.

with your invisible hand, push me along.

carry me through the wind.

levitate to freedom.

i chose now for a reason.

A reminder...

I stumbled upon this beautiful poem by Kabir (1440-1518) recently and have fallen in love.  He was a mystic poet and saint of India who revealed the divine through direct experience.

A Place To Sit
Don't go outside your house to see flowers.
My friend, don't bother with that excursion.
Inside your body there are flowers.
One flower has a thousand petals.
That will do for a place to sit.
Sitting there you will have a glimpse of beauty
inside the body and out of it,
before gardens and after gardens.

translated by Robert Bly

Reading this is a reminder to look within for beauty, for answers, for truth.  Self-reflection and listening to our intuition is something that has become less and less in this society.  We react to the stimulus around us before even stopping to see if it is coming from a place of love and truth.  Let us all try to be more mindful of ourselves and how we live in this world.~LA

Mirage

grey skies make your eyes glow.
jade eyes...
oh, jade eyes.

your blood is made of stars.
and mine, that of gypsies,
from a time and land far from here.

lead me to a new oasis,
without time and measure.

the winds shape our soul story.

a kiss erases all thought.

as we fall to the sand,
flesh burnt by the sun,
i wipe the sweat from your brow.

tomorrow's a new life.
my mirage...
gone.

goodbye love star.
see you in my dreams.
love you with my thoughts.

with my eyes closed,
a moment of silence in your honor.

supermoon

supermoons bring super times
and super love beams that shine from my heart in all directions

mainly one towards you

i wish i could share this with you until dawn

a safe space of love and openess
faults and lessons
with a dose of understanding

it's all the same struggle just with different words

and so i thank you for the evening
i thank you for your soul

our arms will hold each other in dreamspace
and a parallel universe is born

Love Seat

it's funny, a writer, wishing that words didn't exist, but...

i wish there were times that we could sit down together, one on one, and just share a loving space.

i would sit across from you.  gaze into your eyes and smile.

breathe deeply

love deeply

share deeply

we could both place our egos on the back of our chair
and pick them up on our way out...
but for that time
we would be still and silent and smile.

i would tell you with my mind the beauty i see in your soul.
how you, in particular, speak to me in a way no one else can.
it is your art, your music, your writing,
your form of expression that touches a thread within.

your realization,
and subsequent creativity,
connect with another person,
another soul,
that must make it true.
true for at least two of us.

Mindful

i feel your beauty.
your sound,
your images,
your story,
your words,
your silence,
your kiss,
your death,
your sorrow,
your longing,
your happiness and joy,
your absent mindedness,
your split second wrong decision...
you.
naked...
like we all are sometimes.

i am still breathing.

Daughter, Sister, Mother

As you break out of the pavement,
I am breaking out of this chamber.

The smoke rises,
day in and day out...
Suffocating both of us in our repression.

Your sky is paling,
My blue, fading,
Until we can breathe freely again.

As your oven heats up,
Mine trembles in fear.

The streets pave the way of the wind,
Masking the true beauty we both possess.

Your trees are dying,
Mine, groping,
We seek pure soil for nourishment.

As you play with the tides,
I roll in and out.

The creatures fade into the night,
Leaving us longing for some connection.

Your soul is fighting,
My eyes, weeping.

Will we live again?

Willow

In between day in and day out, beauty happens.

The healing occurs,
the love is shared,
the planet, explored.

The longing runs deep in my veins.
Blood flowing and traveling till it finds a perfect resting place.

Few exist now.
Currency is king,
while the queen's mouth is filled with cement.

She is slowly getting revenge,
and soon she will show the patriarchy the door,
the door to the end of this lifetime.

They will not return to positions of power,
but hopefully ones of service.
Selfless service to her and all those who bow down to her love.

I know we will all hold hands then,
feel the breeze through our hair,
and the trees would weep tears of joy as we rest under them.
